Rishabha

Rishabha is named in the <i>Valmiki Ramayana</i> among the foremost Vanara chiefs who rallied to Sugriva after his alliance with Rama. Though the epic does not devote a separate narrative to him, his inclusion among the principal commanders reflects the trust placed in his strength, discipline and judgment. When Sugriva mobilized the Vanara kingdom to search for Sita, Rishabha stood among the leaders responsible for directing large bodies of warriors.
