Shatrughna

In the <i>Valmiki Ramayana</i>, Shatrughna is the youngest son of King Dasharatha and Queen Sumitra, and the twin brother of Lakshmana. While Lakshmana devotes himself to Rama, Shatrughna remains inseparable from Bharata. He rarely seeks recognition, choosing instead to strengthen the kingdom through loyal service rather than public glory. When Bharata returns to Ayodhya and learns of Rama's exile, Shatrughna stands firmly beside him. Armed with the Divine Arrow of Vishnu, Shatrughna waits until Lavanasura leaves behind the irresistible trident granted by Shiva. Seizing the moment, he defeats the demon and restores peace. After the victory, Shatrughna establishes and governs Mathura, bringing stability and righteous rule to the region. His leadership is firm yet humble, proving that great rulers do not always seek the center of attention. The <i>Valmiki Ramayana</i> remembers Shatrughna as a prince whose greatest strength was unwavering service.
